Happy Valentines Day

Ta-da! Its wear red day and spread that love around.

I think this day is hard for some...the commercialism is a bit over the top anymore. Isn't it always? You know they'll have fourth of July out next week now. LOL. But a burst of it to emphasis the importance of celebrating love even in the middle of a very cold winter is a good thing. A jolt is needed sometimes.

So...make sure you spread that love around! Don't forget. Make it simple.

VOTE!

If its primairy day in your state go vote.

Vote because:

1. If you want to complain about anything in the next 4 years...you dang well have better particpated in the process or you should keep your mouth shut

2. Of all the people who died to give you this right....this is a big deal...not just a thing to say....really think about the sacrifice others have made for you before you say it doesn't matter

3. Because there is a lot pending here. People running are very much one side or the other on many issues. We've got a woman, a black man and a rather senior person in front running positions. Just a lot going on if you pay attention at all.....and then there are the issues at hand I sure hope people get around to looking at! Are other countries going to take aim at us more intentionally if a woman is in charge? Is a very liberaly minded black man going to make "choices" for change for your family? Who do YOU want to be in charge. Which direction do you want our country to go?

4. Just do it.

Pro Life

I am.

I realize I am rather late as right to life Sunday is past... And seems to be a time in blog lands to announce which side of the line you fall on. I've read numerous blogs on the subject in the past week and a half and have gotten disgusted reading the ones proclaiming as a woman right to choose. Its her body arguements abound STILL in this day and age. Some will actually call abortion "family planning". I've read many that disagree and say indeed they are prolife and abortion is wrong. The ones I find rather troubling are the ones that say it is wrong, ACCEPT it is OK when abortion saves the life or in cases of rape or incest. I don't get that at all. Your still killing a baby. The baby is as much a victim here as the baby.

And so....it is time for me to make my proclamation I suppose. Abortion is wrong 100% of the time. It is never OK. Never. It is murder. <----- period. If you remove a baby from its mothers uterus you have commited murder. If you allow this to occur you are guilty of manslaughter.

As for the agrugments.

1. The "choice" came when the woman had or didn't have sex. Not after.

2. What if she didn't choose? Then she is a victim as is the baby. Two wrongs never make a right

3. "Outlawing abortions will send abortion back to back alleys". Well, its were many murders do occur today. The ones that are illegal. It may sound harsh, but I am not going to say that making something illegal legal so it can be done "safely" is right. That just doesn't make any sense to me.

It is our duty to protect those who can not protect themselves. Because I believe what I do, not speaking up against it is wrong. Sinful.

And for any who think I write this because I am advocating against abortion to boost adoptions....guess again. To parent or not is a whole different choice. IMO separate from choosing life. I have ALWAYS felt this way about abortion (horrified) long before I beccame an adoptive parent.

Am I judging those who've had abortions? I suppose you could call it that. I am pointing out what I firmly believe with in my whole being to be extremely sinful. To not do so would be sinful on my part. Am I so lily white clean of sin that I feel righteous in proclaiming this? Nope. I am chuck full of sin. I know this. I'm a definate work in progress. BUT the bible says that when you see someone do something they aren't suppose to....you should tell them quietly so they can correct. If they don't listen, go as a group. Should this not work, ask your minsters to tell them. If still the sinner won't listen, we are to cast them off like dirt from our shoes. I believe that it has been told. Abortion is sinful. To continue in this sin will result in grave consequences for us all. I firmly believe this.

And I saying to condemn those who have participated in this sin? No way. God forgives ALL sins. All of 'em. You just gotta ask....and do your best to then sin no more.

Tax Rebate

Here we go! So the powers that be want to send me $2400 to spend. Will doing this really help the economy.....not so sure. But I'm not going to send the money back thats IS for sure. Time will tell on the results of it.

SO, the big question. How to spend it. Do you stick it in savings just to spite the government? I doubt they would care so much unless huge numbers of us did that and lets be honest on the liklihood of that happening. On to other more responsible things. Pay off dept. Add an extra mortgage payment. Invest. How about fun things. My good friends first idea was to book a cruise. I have another friend who is padding their adoption fund.

Do you know what the very first thing was that popped into my head? A new washing machine. One of those that wrings things out so well they are nearly dry and can hold like 16 pairs of jeans. I mentioned this to my sister. She agreed that would be awesome. She to is the mother to 4. Then she asked how far we've come that the idea of such a washer makes us this excited. Where are the days of wanting to spend the money on vacations and bigger TVs.

My husband tends to be more fiscally conservative then myself when larger chunks are set in front of us. And we haven't discussed this particular chunk at all. And even if its not the most exciting thing. And even if this leaves our government in a slump.....I'm still hoping I get a cool washing machine out of the deal. Maybe even a colored one.

Random things

Haven't been here in awhile. January tends to get busy with kiddos things and my random thoughts tend to be what do I have to to be ready for the next what. I do try to keep the kids down to one sport at a time. And have been successful. BUT they are getting older and have more activities that don't fall into a sports category and often go the full school. So that when you add the one sport...you are running every night! Its tough to strike a balance but I'm working at it. And we have supper together several nights a week. The kids and I do nearly every night for sure.

And then there was the sickness week. Poor G had RSV, double ear infection and around day 9 of these illness decided to pop a moler. Pretty miserable babe I had her for a good 12 days! She is back into the land of healthy and happy self once again.

She and I were up early this Saturday monring. Thanks to our basement renter. Our renter has a standing breakfast date with friends on Sat morning. This is an exciting thing for her apparently as she is up early every Saturday and today excetionally loud waking both myself and G up. I am NOT a happy camper. DH said 6 more months and we will ask her to leave. Its been 10 months. Can I do another 6? She drives me nuts. Mostly because she is loud at the very most important times I need her to be quiet. Normal sleeping times. I mean WHO wants to be woken up at 6 on Sat if they don't have to go to work? She is loud at night to not going to bed until after 11 ever. Which means I can't go to bed either as I do hear her. This does not bother DH. He could sleep through any human noise I'm sure of it. And the smoking. She smokes outside only. But my outside stinks. bleck. We did not lease to her....she came with the house....and we kept her. Whoops. (just to clarify)

It has been bitterly cold lately too. And no real significant snow since November. What is the point of having cold if we don't have any snow for the kids to play in? We actually do HAVE snow. Old November snow...cause its been so cold it won't melt. Its pretty bad when your random thoughts go to the weather on your own blog. And so it goes.

Happy New Year

Here's hoping that everyone has a peaceful New Year. That is my hope for my household. 2007 was nuts with new baby, new house, new jobs.....to much new. Not enough peace. This year I hope we have peace.

January is always a struggle with me. My brain is full of things I want to fix.....the house, the kids, projects galore. My heart however would rather snuggle in bed with a good book. If I could just get my brain to zip it already
